Living in Lyon
Lyon is a perfect city for foreign students, fitted to the human scale and very dynamic. Its population is reputed to be friendly and open to foreigners. There are around 16 000 foreign students enrolled in Lyon high education institutions.
Social benefits
Housing Benefit Foreign students, as well as French students, can receive housing benefits as soon as they find a place. Student’s annual budget
Here is an estimate of the cost of studying for a year at the CNSMD. Monthly rates should be multiplied by nine to obtain the annual total. The costs do not include ancillary expenses such as purchase of music, trips, leisure activities, etc.)
Housing
The Lyon CNSMD has its own student residence with 60 beds, situated on the premises of the conservatory at 3 quai Chauveau, Lyon 9.
Medical insurance
As soon as students have paid their fees, they must choose and pay for French national insurance (‘sécurité sociale’), which comes in various forms.
Student status
Students at the Lyon CNSMD benefit from the same status as students at French universities. The student card you receive is a proof of your student status and give you access to numerous preferential prices.
